PCF provides educational, health-related and social services to disadvantaged children in rural areas of Haiti.  In addition, we facilitate access to such services where access is lacking, and assist other organizations (domestic and international) that are working to promote the welfare of PCF’s target population.

Our current programs:

Education.  We provide full scholarships (covering tuition, exam fees, textbooks, school supplies, meals and uniforms) to needy children of all ages, enabling them to attend primary or secondary school.  These children typically are orphans or have unemployed parents who cannot afford the cost of education, which is not free in Haiti.

Clothing.  We distribute shoes and clothing to needy families.  The shoes – which afford protection against dangerous parasites that can infect those who walk barefoot – are donated by the U.S.-based charity Walk in My Shoes.  The clothing is donated by supporters in the U.S.

Toys.  We provide simple toys as seasonal holiday presents to needy children, most of whom have never owned a toy before.

Athletics.  We provide economically disadvantaged boys and girls with an opportunity to develop their character as well as their soccer skills in a structured environment under the guidance of qualified adult soccer coaches, who are given supplemental training.  Equipment (shin guards, cleats, uniforms and balls) is supplied to the children at no cost, but participation in the program is contingent upon their academic performance.

  ·

Vocational Training.  PCF plans to broaden the scope of its services in the near future to offer vocational training to disadvantaged adolescents who are forced by circumstances to drop out of school.  This training would provide them with a means of livelihood.

Help Protect the Children’s Future (PCF) provide the 2019 Summer Arts and Sports Camp to three hundred (300) underprivileged children in rural Haiti.

The Camp, free to its participants, is to be held the second week of August in Petite Rivière de Nippes for youth ranging in age from 7-18.

A professional artist will provide daily instruction in different mediums to small groups of boys and girls.  The sports activities will focus on soccer drills and techniques, and basketball, with emphasis on sportsmanship.  Rising 12th graders from the Washington International School in Washington DC will travel to Haiti to share their knowledge and skills with the Haitian youth.  PCF’s coaches and volunteers (both local and from the US) will work jointly for the successful realization of the camp.  The Campers will be served a healthy meal each day.

Your support for the PCF Arts and Sports Summer Camp  will provide these children with a platform to: (a) be creative, express their thoughts and emotions and use their intuition through works of art; (b) learn good art skills, discover and strengthen their talents; (c) promote communication among them; (d) decrease the likelihood for their participation in criminal and/or harmful activities; (e) build strong social bonds with their peers which, in the long term, may result in creating better communities; and (f) provide them with an opportunity to be involved in healthy and fun activities. Please help us in making this happen.  Thank you in advance for your financial support.  We need funding to finance the following:
